Biden’s $40 Billion Gaffe in the Pacific Islands

The Biden administration has been courting political leaders from various Pacific-Island nations in a bid to “counter China.” The Pacific deserves greater attention and resources from the US, but the kind of attention and resources that follow “great-power competition” can be perilous.

But in the latest set of initiatives, Biden just announced $40 BILLION for a Pacific Island Infrastructure Initiative. The Guardian reported it.
