Hans Morgenthau Wouldn’t Recognize Elbridge Colby

Drop Site News ran a piece critically profiling Elbridge Colby, a well-known MAGA foreign policy thinker with very hawkish views on China.

The piece takes the view that the most scathing critique would be a fair-minded one, which is generally a smart thing to do. And to be fair, the piece does offer a good rundown on what Bridge is about. But it also takes too much of Bridge’s self-proclaimed ideology at face value and explicitly associates Bridge’s beliefs with the “realist” tradition. This is not quite right.
