I’m too close to foreign policy to have a dispassionate sense of whether normal people vibe with this. Except for Mike Pence, my guess is that nobody knows who any of these people are. And that actually might help it play well as a general election ad. It’s certainly cut well.

But every single person quoted in this ad is not just someone who had the poor, likely cynical judgment to carry Trump’s water when he was president—they’re all extreme hawks.
