Love “reestablishing deterrence is not a thing.” This is so important.
As you know, US think tankers are very concerned about “declining US deterrence” vis a vis China with special focus on Taiwan. Thus they frame a need for reestablishing this presumed deterrence. This fallacy leads to “a need to go full on an arms race” with China to chase a fallacy-based great power arms competition.
This all deserves at least a book. Not saying you should write the book! But, please keep talking about this. We need several young scholars to take this craziness on!
