Mainstream and Democratic Party media has created an information bubble that allowed their audiences to believe in a world that doesn’t exist—one where Kamala had a fighting chance, if only she was less “woke,” ran to the center, and courted neoconservatives while ignoring the role of US policy in violence everywhere from the border to Palestine.

I’m not going to re-litigate the lies they told and the misleading way that they framed reality for the past year-plus, but some of the worst offenders have been Morning Joe, The Atlantic, and the Pod Save America bros.1

I’ve been alienated from these media sources for a while, even though they were once staples in my information diet.

But the news that Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough—the hosts of MSNBC’s Morning Joe—literally took a post-election atonement trip to meet with Trump out of fear is galling. As you probably know, Joe and Mika have made their politics entirely about “This is an emergency. We have to beat the fascist no matter what, and that requires shutting up, getting in line, and shelving progressive reforms.” The loudest “fascist” screamers are also the first to lick the boot.

These media sources are packed with profoundly unserious people who primarily want to preserve class privilege. They’re playing a game that doesn’t serve the interests of normal people.

If you’re sick of these lying pieces of shit you’re open to alternative perspectives that better prepare you for reality, here are some of my suggestions for a new information diet:
