I made a guest appearance on the hilarious and edifying Remember Shuffle Podcast, alongside my Bang-Bang co-host, Lyle Rubin.
Remember Shuffle is a pod that takes a critical eye to the bonkers culture of the ‘00s. It’s one of my favorite shows in part for the nostalgia-bath reminders of how absurd it is to have lived through being a Millennial. But it’s also a well-researched, historically grounded comedy show that makes me laugh out loud while it drops critical knowledge. I don’t even know what to compare it to, but it’s a must-listen.
Anyway, the Shuffle Bois, Jordano and Ben, are doing a mini-series on the Iraq War and its aftermath; Lyle and I came on to talk about the counter-insurgency years of roughly 2004-2008. Spoiler alert: The US counter-insurgency didn’t work out well! Who would’ve thunk it 🤷🏽♂️?
In the back half of the episode, we also discuss two insane movies, American Sniper (2013) and Warfare (2024).
Listen to learn. Listen to share some laughs. Listen so that we never do another gosh damn counter-insurgency.
