About the student housing/rent crisis. The days of boutique mini-projects and technocratic voodoo are over. The market won't solve this (duh), neither will NGOs, I doubt democracy will, but even if it did, it wouldn't help the current cohort or the next few. It's back to basics for all of us. The radical approach would be mass, organized squatting. It's been done before, and maybe it's something your students need to hear about from a sympathetic teacher.
And I was thinking Portugal. I once did a summer school in Coimbra, one of Europe’s ancient university cities, and the student fraternities - the repúblicas - there are notoriously leftist radicals, and have been since the Middle Ages. They own and administer collective housing in the old city around the university, covered in brilliant graffiti - anti-imperialist etc.
Can't wait to listen but the headline has to be addressed. MR saying he is a Tupac fan is such a hilarious self-own cause Pac didn't eff with none of the stuff he's about. Which means he's not.🤷🏽♀️
