I wish I had your faith (perhaps that's too strong a word) in AOC. I was already referring to her as 'my President' in early 2019 (I have the tweets to prove it), but there's been a shit-ton of water under the bridge since then. Bottom line is that she completely lost me when she told the 2024 Democratic Convention that Kamala was working 24-7 to establish a Gaza ceasefire...a blatant lie that we could all see through at the time.

The rest of the Democratic field for 2028 is, of course, no better and mostly much worse. Were they to run, I might be able to get behind Jeff Merkley or Chris Van Hollen...at least they haven't lied to me yet.

Yes, the problem here is that there is nobody better. I don’t think there’s much of an electoral path to change but 1) I’m in her policy orbit and thats not nothing and 2) it’s a space obviously worth contesting. I just hope it doesn’t demobilize people or give them false hope that a president will fix things

A lot of over-the-top reactions to AOC’s Munich performance in op-eds and opinion pieces. Hard to tell if it’s her views or herself that drive the haters.
